Why hire an electrician?
Because Electricity can be Dangerous! Ensure your family's safety by hiring a professional that is licensed, bonded, and insured. Electricians are required to go through schooling and work as an apprentice in the field for 4 years before they are allowed to take their journeyman's license and work on their own. They also must take continuing education to stay up to date on electrical code changes.
According to the U.S. Consumer Products Safety Commission (CPSC) about 200 people die from electrocution each year.
Deaths from residential fires run close to 700 annually.
Each year about 3,000 people are treated in hospital emergency rooms for injuries associated with electricity.
Almost 10,000 fires result from damaged or overloaded cords and plugs each year.
What size service does my home need?
It depends on your square footage, amount of 240 volt electrical appliance usage, and overall electrical load. Most new homes should have a 200 amp service, this will allow for some expansion in the future.
What could cause a breaker to trip?
A bad connection on a receptacle or junction box splice. Missing insulation on wire. These are fire hazards and should be addressed.
"Dear Jeff, I want to thank you for adjusting your calendar to accommodate the work we required in our kitchen..... Most importantly though, I was concerned about the blown breaker and you went down my list of electrical needs and efficiently repaired each one. You are a true professional, Jeff!"
"Both times you have been to our home it has been last minute because someone else has not followed through. You can be sure you will be first on our list in the future. Many thanks from a grateful mom whose life is much easier now!"
- Leslie, Minneapolis
